My god, I need a jeweler's loupe to read your journal. Reminds me of the fine print on these tax forms sitting on my desk.

Ha ha ha! You are SO funny! Those are the tiniest links! They're so cute! Why did you stomp on the AWP skunk with the giant foot? And the caveman? I like the caveman! And I loved your poem on Poet Daily's website! I got some terrific news last month: one of my poems was nominated for a Pushcart Prize!

That Band of Horses album took a few spins for it to grab me. It's good, but it's not as good as Pitchfork says. When are they going to review the new Two Gallants? That's the best thing I've heard so far this year.

David, it was nice meeting you in Austin. Sorry you had to see me puke in the planter. Gin & tonic...never again. -Lawrence

jennifer: stop screaming. you should know that everyone's been nominated for a pushcart. even my uncle harold. saying you were nominated for a pushcart is like saying 'my friend bought me a lottery ticket.' whoop-de-do.

Phillip,
I agree with you completely about Band of Horses. Their album reminds me of Rogue Wave's first one, but not as cheerful. I can't wait for the new Built to Spill.

Jennifer--Congrats on the Pushcart nomination. Phillip--I love the BoH album. Lawrence--Yes, it was good meeting you. Don't sweat the planter incident. Mind if I post a picture in a couple weeks?

Dear Anonymous, Not true! My friend Gigi hasn't been nominated for a Pushcart Prize! So there!

Would anyone mind if I post one of my poems on this thing?

Why did you make the font too small to read? Are those pictures from AWP? I wish I could've gone, but I had to teach.

David, what do you think of new album by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs? I enjoy reading your web site (even though this one was impossible to read).

jennifer: what's with your fascination with the exclamation point? is gigi a dog? that would explain why she was never nominated. don't post your poem. i beg you.

WAITING FOR MY ANGEL'S EMAIL

When I think of you my heart skips a beat.
I look for you up and down the city street.
I know you've gone far away to another town.
Things are not the same without you around.
Tears of sadness slide down my unhappy face.
I know you've flown off to another place.
Please come back my love, I miss you so.
You're my angel and I won't let you go.
I'm writing you an email and hope you'll reply.
If you don't I'll weep some more, then say goodbye.

Jennifer...Although I can appreciate the sentiment behind your poem, it still feels a little contrived. It sounds more like a pop song. But what do I know? -Lawrence

Hi David,
How did you get a two-book deal? Do you have an agent? If so, what's his/her name, if you don't mind me asking? I think your agent would like my book judging from what I've read of your poetry. I had to read "Music Waiting for a House" in college.

Matt--I don't think it's that good. Their first album's better. Anon--Try to be respectful here, okay?
